We are thrilled to share the success of today’s health screening event hosted at the parking lot of Best Buy from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. This screening was part of our activities for the Global Week for Action on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs). And, thanks to the generous support of Espaces, the Ministry of Health, and the Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (Taiwan ICDF), we were able to provide free health checks to 53 members of the public.
This event was a pivotal step in the fight against NCDs, which include conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and kidney disorders. By offering essential health assessments, participants gained valuable insights into their vital statistics, including blood pressure, blood sugar levels, height, weight, BMI, and kidney function. Armed with this knowledge, individuals are better equipped to make informed choices about their health and take proactive steps towards prevention.
The impact of this initiative goes far beyond the numbers. Each health check administered represents a commitment to raising awareness about NCDs and emphasising the significance of early detection and preventive measures. By facilitating access to these crucial health assessments, we are working towards a culture of wellness in St. Kitts and Nevis.
This event would not have been possible without the generous support of Espaces, the Ministry of Health, and the Taiwan ICDF. Their collaboration played a pivotal role in the success of this initiative. We extend our heartfelt thanks to them all for their dedication to the well-being of our community.
We believe that the ripple effect of today’s event will continue to make a positive impact on the health and well-being of our community. By increasing awareness and encouraging early intervention, we aim to reduce the incidence of NCDs and alleviate their burden on our healthcare system.
We look forward to future opportunities to work together with our partners towards a healthier and more prosperous community. If you have any questions or would like to learn more about this event, please feel free to reach out to us at ncdallianceskn@gmail.com
