They are committed to shining a light on the experiences faced by lupus patients, highlighting the common and unique challenges they encounter.
Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects different parts of the body, as the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy cells. Fatigue is a prominent symptom experienced by lupus patients, ranging from everyday tiredness to a debilitating heaviness that hinders daily functioning. Sunlight exposure presents a particular difficulty for individuals with lupus, as it can lead to skin sensitivity and increased vulnerability to sunburn.
