About Us

Who We Are

The St Kitts and Nevis NCD Alliance is a coalition of civil society organisations focused on the prevention and control of NCDs through public education, supporting NCD patients, advocating for evidence-based NCD policies and building the capacity of our members.

Lake Health and Wellbeing acts as the secretariat and convenor of the Alliance. We are grateful for the invaluable technical support and funding received from esteemed partners, namely the Global Health Advocacy Incubator and the Commonwealth Foundation, during our crucial start-up phase.

Vision

To be the voice of civil society in all endeavours to create a nation free of preventable deaths and illnesses related to non-communicable diseases.

Mission

To strengthen civil society’s response to NCDs through a united approach to educating the public, supporting NCD patients, advocating for evidence based NCD policies and building the capacity of our members.

OBJECTIVES

  • Educate the public on all aspects of NCDs including the causes, risk factors and prevention strategies
  • Create a support and education system for NCD patients that enables them to successfully manage their condition.
  • Advocate for the development and implementation of evidence-based, multi sectoral policies for the prevention and control of NCDs
  • Build the capacity of our members to contribute meaningfully to efforts to prevent and control NCDs.

INCLUSION

All relevant voices in civil society are invited to participate in efforts of the SKN NCD Alliance that aim to contribute to the achievement to the objectives of the national NCD Strategy Plan.

EQUITY

Resources of all kinds are shared in such a way so as to enable member parties to have equal opportunity at contributing to the goals of the SKN NCD Alliance and of the national plan.

COLLABORATION & SHARING

Sharing of information and cooperation among member parties to avoid duplication of efforts and increase outcome and impact of activities.

EVIDENCED-BASED ACTIONS

Actions by individual Member Organizations and the SKN NCD Alliance itself are supported by evidence and research findings in all relevant technical fields.

TRANSPARENCY

Actions and decision making of the SKN NCD Alliance are undertaken with knowledge of all active members.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Member parties shall take responsibility for actions and timely reporting
